About Sarah
Welcome to Insights Counselling Carlow.
If you are here, perhaps you have been considering counselling. I hope you find the information here helpful, in your decision making and should you have any questions which are not answered, I would be very happy to receive an email, phone call or text regarding same.
It is my hope that in viewing my website you will get a sense of what I am about and more importantly how counselling could work for you at this time.
As a counsellor, I work in a humanistic way which means that for the most part, I am non-directive and that it is you, the client who directs the pace and depth of the work.
It has been my experience that this is the mode of working which is most therapeutic for clients. The client is given the space they need to explore their feelings and thoughts, thus allowing them to tap into their inbuilt strengths and to find their own answers.
As well as being a humanistic counsellor, I am also integrative, which in effect means that I draw from various theoretical models of counselling, e.g Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred, Psychoanalytical, Gestalt.
Training and Qualifications.
I received my core training in Counselling and Psychotherapeutic practices at PCI College Dublin, Ireland.
I am an accredited member of the IACP (Irish Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists).
I am dedicated to continuous professional development in the interests of providing the best therapeutic experience for my clients.
I am qualified in Gestalt Therapy with the Dublin Gestalt Centre
I am an IACP Accredited Supervisor, providing supervision to both psychotherapists and any professional for whom Supervision would be of benefit.
